Sr. Director of Ophthalmology
ModMed
As the Sr. Director of Ophthalmology, I help ModMed evolve the ophthalmology platform and recommend go-to-market strategies. I do this in two ways: combining my expertise in implementing and using the EMA EHR system while in clinical practice, and speaking with Ophthalmology clients, listening to their needs, and communicating them to the development, customer success, and other teams at Mod Med.
I was a practicing ophthalmologist and sometimes managing partner at RGW from 1991 until 2017 in Washington, DC. I completed my training as a Surgical Retina and Vitreous Fellow at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from 1989 to 1991.
No stranger to the intersection of technology and medicine, while I was an Ophthalmology Resident at The New York Hospital I wrote a computer database to help automate my clinic and manage patient information electronically. I am passionate about helping doctors be better doctors by diminishing the time and effort needed to run their businesses and spend more time with patients.
The Georgetown University Ophthalmology Department honored me twice as Teacher of the Year.
I obtained my undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Princeton University, was elected to join Sigma Xi, and earned my MD from Weill Cornell Medical College. I completed my residency in ophthalmology at The New York Hospital Department of Ophthalmology.
