Themba Vundla is a seasoned healthcare technology leader, currently serving as Senior Director at Modernizing Medicine, where he leads a Product team responible for the delivery of solutions that support Federal and State level Regulatory and Compliance requirements. Since joining in May 2023, he has been responsible for driving cross-functional teams to deliver programs that meet complex regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with evolving healthcare regulations while providing value to clients and stakeholders.
Prior to joining Modernizing Medicine, Themba spent over six years as Director of Technical Program Management at Athenahealth, where he played a key role in leading regulatory compliance initiatives, including programs aligned with the 21st Century Cures Act. He successfully managed large-scale compliance projects, ensuring athenahealth's solutions adhered to federal and state healthcare regulations while advancing the company's technological capabilities. In addition to focusing on Regulatory Compliance, Themba also led various initiatives in the AthenaCollector Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) product. His work at athenahealth positioned him as a leader in navigating complex regulatory environments within the healthcare industry.
He earned his MBA from Bond University and a Bachelor’s degree in Town and Regional Planning from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Themba also holds both Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certifications.
